Histo Cell Count (HCC)

The HCC software package detects positively stained cells on digital high-resolution images (individual or mosaics) from histology sections. For each cell in the image a color index is calculated which correlates with the cell's staining intensity (e.g. degree of brownness). The distribution of the color indices per image is calculated and can be viewed in a ‘Number of Cells’ versus ‘Color Index’ histogram.
Through the settings panel, the user is able to fine-tune the algorithm: detection and classification thresholds can be set to obtain optimal cell detection and an accurate classification in ‘weakly’ and ‘strongly’ stained cells. These settings can be saved for easy access later on. If the analysis needs to be limited to a particular area, the handy ROI Tool allows for a precise demarcation of the regions-of-interest.
- The software is scanning station independent as it comes with image importers
- Included in the package is the ROI Tool for adding or substracting regions to/from the analysed area
- Cell-specific data are available on a single mouse-click
- Frequency histograms offer a quick view into the classification of cells
- The DCILABS Help Library simply guides you through the program when needed
