Universal Grab 'Scanning Kit' (UGR)

WHAT IS IT?
The ‘Universal Grab (UGR)’ Scanning Kit is developed for easy and straightforward image recording of all types of samples. Intended to be a versatile, fast research tool, this platform can be regarded as a flexible alternative for the high-end ‘black box’ scanning stations. The full kit includes an automated stage, camera and software and can simply be mounted to most microscopes. If you have an automated microscope already, you only need the software component.
STANDARD TOOLS FOR EXCELLENT IMAGE QUALITY
We believe that beautifully designed experiments must result in beautiful images. The UGR software is therefore equipped with a battery of assisting tools that assure optimal image quality. Our flagship is the real-time automated z-focus that guarantees in-focus images even for difficult low-contrast samples. Our background correction tool can be used to flatten uneven illumination and substantially facilitate the upstream analysis.
FLEXIBILITY IS A MUST!
As imaging is becoming a routinely available technique, flexible recording protocols are a must. The UGR software allows you to compose your own scanning protocol. Scanning functions such as time lapse recording, and video recording can be combined to make a personalized scanning protocol that perfectly fits your needs. The powerful ‘mosaic tool’ merges adjacent images smoothly into large overview images so large areas can be scanned and analyzed.
EXTRA GOODIES
- The plate layout creation’ tool allows you to scan all types of well plates, glass carriers or Petri dishes.
- Need a quick snapshot? No problem: the ‘live image’ tool does the job.
- Includes a camera-calibration module for correction of camera rotation and tilting.
IMAGE ANALYSIS
Images recorded by the UGR software can be used as input for analysis software of your choice. Personalized output can be arranged like special metadata formats etc... If DCILABS analysis software is used, a pipe-lined platform can be created, yielding analysis results in record times!
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The UGR kit can be placed on most types of microscopes (inverted and stand-up). Different types of cameras (standard PAL video, color,…) and stages are possible.
Please call DCILabs if you are interested in a demo and we’ll show you what the UGR is capable of on your own samples!
