A complete solution
DCILabs’ imaging software consists of more than 12 packages covering an image acquisition kit and all key HCS analysis assays currently used in the leading pharmaceutical companies. All software packages provide users with a range of tools to automate acquisition or image import, processing, analysis of cellular images and powerful viewers for post-analytical verification.
Acquisition
DCILabs’ portfolio contains an image recording kit, Universal Grab, designed to integrate with most inverted microscopes. It contains an automated stage, a camera and the Universal Grab software for hardware control an image acquisition. The kit features bright field as well as fluorescence imaging recording, auto-focus, Z- stack recording and time lapse recording.
Analysis
DCILabs’ strong focus on image analysis has led to the creation of more than 12 stand-alone analysis software packages covering all popular HCS assays of the modern pharmacy industry and a few showpieces that situate themselves on the edge of modern cell biology and optics. We do NOT make use of macro’s or scripts; we rather use our unique experience and competency in image analysis to optimize each individual analysis algorithm using the optimal development language and best possible tools. We are therefore proud to say that the DCILabs’ analysis packages are unrivalled regarding speed and quality.

Platform independent software
All our software packages operate independent of your scanning system (imaging platform). Our image importer tools import raw-data images into our file system for analysis. We currently support most common platforms (Amersham GE-Healthcare, BD, Cellomics, Evotec, Maia, Molecular Devices,...). Central analysis of images recorded from various sources and data comparison are possible.

Tunable algorithms
All DCILabs’ analysis software packages come feature ‘tunable’ algorithms so perfect segmentation and object detection is guaranteed on a wide range of cells under various biological conditions. The installation includes default settings that are optimized for demo images, and you can optimize this for your images by using a user-friendly settings interface that guides you through each algorithm parameter. A test button is provided to check the effect of the settings. Once the parameters are configured, you can store them as ‘presets’ and run them across entire data sets.
Data mining
Data are stored in several ways: cell-by-cell, well-by-well and sample-by-sample , allowing in-depth post statistical analysis on different levels. Data can be exported for further analysis. Powerful visual verification is possible; clicking on the images displays the cell specific data of the most nearby cell. Annotation is possible on some packages. Others come with customized post-statistical tools for e.g calculation of IC50, comparison of controls versus positive wells etc. Novel post-statistical tools can be developed when required and seamlessly integrated in your application.
